The Real Me...

A native of Magdalena, Laguna and grew up in Makati City... having 5 elder sisters and 2 younger brothers, the 6th among the brood of eight. Single and still available... Simple, honest, mysterious, thoughtful, romantic and silent type (but there is fun in my company...), that's how they describe the real me... Believe me, this is the most challenging part of my life..."to describe myself". I may find it easier to describe someone's life but if it's about myself... I'm struggling a little bit (huh!). But, I firmly believe that life becomes more COLORFUL if we will keep the memories in our hearts and learn from our pasts...

Okay! Let's look back and reflect my life from time to time.... I saw the first rays of sun and first drops of dew on the 23rd of August 1972. It was rainy season when I came into this world before dawn. Being the first boy in the family... everyone was very excited to see the bouncing and cute (???) baby boy. Named after one of the astronauts (Edwin Aldrin) during the successful mission of "Apollo-11 Space Shuttle" in the universe in 1969... my mother kept in mind for 3 years and even very excited to use the name "Edwin" if God will bless them of a baby boy after having 5 girls in the family.... Finally, this dream has come into a reality.... Edwin came into this world (that's me...). Everyone was watching me over as strong and energetic boy... expected to become a leader someday and the mole on my right foot shows the trace that I can conquer the world sometime. The name "Edwin" according to the "Dictionary of Names" means "Carrier of Treasures of the Prince of Wales". However, "Ching" means "more money". (But I'm not rich and I got no money at all..!). I play tennis and enjoy dancing, watching music video, singing, writing stories, poems and articles. I preferred Western and Italian dishes. I love fruits, vegetables, cookies, chips and popcorn. And most of all, I love traveling!

I came from a Chinese father (from Shanghai) and a Filipina mother (from Bicol) did not find it hard to grow in a "multi-racial" family. Our family ties keep each other close by hearts no matter how far are we from each other. Even I came from the family of businessmen, I did not like business at all. Instead, I pushed to advance my career in my love for arts, music, broadcasting and entertainment. My father wanted me to become an electrical engineer and my mother wanted me to become a lawyer someday. But, there is nothing better than God's plans.... I was able to travel around-the-world while working in the airlines... flying international to the United States of America, Europe and the Middle East. I also joined the media while in the FM radio station and did some projects in the print ads all over Asia. Inspite of these wonderful Blessings from God, I was raised up to become humble and always having the spirit of charity and self-reliance and love for the poor and needy. Thanks God, my feet are still always on the ground inspite of the fact that I was traveling up high in the sky most of the times. This is what I've learned from my beloved parents who taught me how to treasure family and cherish relationship with other people.

Presently working in a multi-cultural company based in Dubai Investments Park, Jebel Ali, Dubai joining the Commercial Group and Sales Team. I came to Dubai after the September 11, 2001 tragedy at Twin Towers in New York City right after my flights to Los Angeles, California. I found the best reasons to give up my American dreams for awhile and face another challenge in the Middle East. Dubai was not new then since I was traveling here in 1999 to 2000 while flying in the airlines. Being in Dubai for almost 2 years... quite challenging... but I consider this place as my second home where I found more loyal friends.

I will see what the future brings... watch out for the next chapter. Only God knows what really lies ahead... That's all folks!!!
